Evridiki (Eurydice) Papachristou, is an Associate Professor at the Creative Design & Clothing Department of the International Hellenic University; the only public higher educational program in fashion and clothing in Greece. She teaches Digital Textile Design, CAD Pattern Cutting Systems, 3D Prototype, Research Methodology and Basic Principles of Bodymetrics. She is also the Co-ordinator of the Erasmus+ project 3D4U and the scientific responsible for the Erasmus+ project, 3DGarT.
After many years spent researching and practicing the effective integration of 3D virtual prototype in the apparel industry, she is currently conducting applied research on the intersection of fashion and data mining and knowledge discovery, to further the technology and its adoption. Evridiki is also interested in the role of Industry 4.0 in creating institutional, social and cultural change towards more sustainable and circular practices.
She has supervised and overseen the Department’s participation in the two recent International Digital Fashion Competitions (2023, 2022), in which the Department of Creative Design & Clothing won the 1st & 3rd prize (2022) and the 3rd prize (2023).
She organized and curated a seminar titled “Fashion 4.0: Innovation in Design & Technology,” featuring guest speakers from the University of Manchester, CERTH, the Technical University of Crete, Beetroot, DMiss, and Computer Life SA.
She has co-organized and chaired 2 workshops titled “AI4Fashion” at the International Conference of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society (EETN) – SETN2020 and SETN2022, featuring invited speakers from the USA, UK, Germany, Italy, and Greece. The proceedings of the presentations were published in reputable scientific journals.
She has Coordinated the student participation in the International Workshop “A.I. in Human Creativity” at the 4th Athens Fashion Film Festival (March 14-16, 2023, at the Athens Concert Hall), focused on artificial intelligence in human creativity. Students from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the National Technical University of Athens collaborated with students from the Department of Creative Design and Clothing to explore AI tools for creative fashion design.
Ιn collaboration with the Manchester Fashion Institute, she was in charge of presenting research results with students at the Digital Symposium “Digital Fashion Innovation” (2020, 2021, 2022 & 2024). DFI serves as an international virtual forum for disseminating research, innovation, creative practices, and education related to the digital world of fashion, fostering the creation of new ideas and collaborations. IHU & CDC were among distinguished universities from the UK, USA, Sweden, Germany, Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
She is also a research member of the CAD/CAM Lab (Technical University of Crete- School of Production Engineering & Management). Recent research projects involve a Conceptual Fashion Product Design Assisted by Artificial Intelligence – AI-CFPD, and i-mannequin a Digital Platform for the Design and Rapid Garment Prototyping – both co-financed by Greece and the EU.
